Day 2 | Discovering Delhi 🇮🇳

Before heading into the Himalayas, our riders took some time to experience the history and culture of India’s capital.

Today’s Delhi sightseeing took the group to Raj Ghat, the memorial dedicated to Mahatma Gandhi, followed by the magnificent Humayun’s Tomb — one of Delhi’s most remarkable examples of Mughal architecture.

For us, a Himalayan motorcycle expedition is not only about riding. It’s about experiencing India — its roads, landscapes, history, people and culture.

Our German riders have now had their first taste of Delhi. Next stop: the Himalayas.

The mountains are calling.

Day 1 | Delhi, India 🇮🇳

The Himalayan adventure begins.

Our German riders have arrived in New Delhi and checked in at the Royal Plaza Hotel, marking the first day of their Enfield Point Himalayan Motorcycle Expedition.

After travelling from Germany to India, today is about settling in, meeting the expedition team, getting prepared and experiencing the first taste of India before we head north towards the mountains.

Soon, the busy streets of Delhi will give way to winding Himalayan roads, remote valleys, high-altitude passes and the dramatic landscapes of Ladakh and the Trans-Himalaya.

Some goodbyes hit different. 🥺

Last meal in Delhi. Last round of laughs. Last time looking at each other knowing what we just did together — Umling La, Tanglang La, Sarchu, snow storms, desert roads, chai breaks, cricket in Kaza. Two weeks of the kind of riding most people only dream about.

These riders flew in from the UK, Europe and across the world as strangers. They're flying home as family.

I’m Kamal from Enfield Point. With the kind permission of the group admin, I wanted to share a little about our Trans Himalaya Motorcycle Expedition for anyone considering a motorcycle adventure in India.
We’ve been organizing professionally supported Himalayan motorcycle expeditions for over 20 years, and I’m sharing a few photographs from our recent June expedition below so you can get a feel for the riding, landscapes and experience.

• 15 Nights / 16 Days • Royal Enfield Himalayan 450 • Approx. 1,500+ miles of riding • Motorcycle riding begins in Manali • Motorcycle riding ends in Leh • Paved roads, gravel, rough mountain sections & water crossings • Small, fully supported groups

Delhi → Manali → Rampur → Nako → Kaza → Sissu → Sarchu → Leh → Hanle → Umling La → Leh
The ride takes you through:
• Spiti Valley • Kaza, Hikkim & Komic • Sarchu and the high-altitude Himalayan terrain • Remote Ladakh • Hanle • Umling La at approximately 19,000 ft
